PLC Meeting September 19, 2017

September 19th

Agenda for PLC
Review last year’s lesson plan for PLC: The Hero
The Big Question: What rhetorical and figurative language does a hero use in a persuasive speech?
Each teacher decides which hero or heroine to use; for example, Martin Luther King or Sojourner Truth, etc.
Students read a speech from the chosen hero/heroine, looking up and defining unfamiliar words and phrases.
The teacher introduces concepts

Decisions will be made by the stakeholders when visits will be made.
We will look at student samples of work.
We will watch student presentations of their own speech using rhetorical techniques on a social issue.  This will constitute as one of the teacher visits.
The second visit will be a general visitation not dependent on a common lesson plan.
